The Mind Power of Yi & Its Ramifications
For good or evil, when mind power yinian accompanies the transfer of vital chi, energy the signal resonates and becomes many times amplified, then boomerangs back to the sender.
Therefore, take serious heed of this warning: never underestimate the power of the yi consciousness. When the intrinsic chi is used with the best intents, it can do tremendous good, as evidenced in qigong healing. But evil intent can only propagate more evil that boomerangs back and causes even the sender to succumb.
Too many times have I seen this happen: many of us who practice healing find that not only does the patient benefit, so does the healer.
I recall one such occasion when I had been passing chi to one of my students who had suffered injury to her ankle. My focus was wholly on healing her ankle. However, the following day, I discovered some bruises I acquired on my arms from sparring had almost completely healed overnight.
What had transpired here? The healing energy I had passed to my student had amplified and rebounded back on me, so that I benefited from the healing as much as the intended recipient, even though I was not originally the intended target.
Likewise in every situation when I pass chi from my hands to another person, I find my hands become extremely soft and supple after the treatment.
Most lay people assume that a martial artist’s hands should have calluses and rough skin. My master, as with many masters practicing internal arts, have hands that are baby soft from the constant practice of qigong (a.k.a. chi kung) and passing healing chi through his hands.
But I am digressing. To reiterate, while visualized intent is very necessary in directing the chi to its intended target, it can have serious ramifications. For good intents, it will amplify good. For bad intents, it will amplify the bad.
E yi or ill intent that accompanies chi will inevitably backfire and engulf the sender. I have witnessed this first hand many times.
The saying that revenge is a double-edged sword certainly holds true. No matter how justified you may feel an action may be, revenge is an act of ill intent and can never produce good results. God or Fate exacts His or its own retribution and needs no assistance from us mere mortals!
So beware of the tremendous mind power you wield and use it only for the tremendous good it can do.
