Mind Power Exercise
For Chi Manipulation
Developing yinian mind power is absolutely essential for harnessing and channeling both waidan and neidan chi, but especially for neidan chi or internal life force.
For this reason, all yinian gong exercises are applicable to both waigong or external hard martial arts and neigong internal arts, as well as to any students seeking to attain the higher levels of mental discipline.
Likewise, cultivating the yi consciousness is absolutely essential for students whose ultimate aim is to become qigong healers or who seek the personal path of spiritual development.
Many students have asked me how to develop their yi consciousness. Unfortunately, it is one of the hardest lessons to master in qigong. It is not just a simple answer of visualization and focusing intent, but more of cultivating a particular mindset that is developed through years of practice. I can only hope these yinian exercises will help to simplify the process.
All yinian gong exercises combine visualization, concentration, focusing of intent, chi generation and meditative skills, as well as yogic breathing to develop yinian mind power consciousness.
The following exercise is one of many yinian gong exercises designed to develop the yi at progressively advancing levels of skill, proportionate to the student’s chi development.
Prerequisites to this first set of lessons:
- basic diaphragmatic breathing
- qigong horse stance
- Basic concentrative jinggong or quiescent meditation skills, in particular, basic ability to maintain a detached inward meditative gaze.
- Ability to locate the laogong pressure points.
Also highly recommended and especially prerequisite with higher development of chi activity: chi calming exercise.
In particular, this free sample exercise of yinian gong is aimed at beginning/intermediate level students relatively new to the mental discipline. I offer this exercise as an example of the level of intensity of concentration required to make controlling and channeling the chi energy successful.
In return, I would ask you to consider lending your support to this website and to help me spread the word so that others may also benefit from the tai chi qigong that I have put so much effort into disseminating through this site.
Thank you and enjoy your free ecourse on developing this potent mind power yinian.
